Unexpected stroke has left my family in need
Donation protected

My dad, John Wright, had a massive stroke on August 30th of 2019. It was caused by a blood clot that was on the left side of his brain. The doctors do not know why or what caused this blood clot. On September 1st the neurology team decided he would benefit and be a good candidate for a Craniotomy. They removed 1/2 of his skull on the left side to relieve the swelling that was occurring and to save his life. On September 10th he was moved to a rehab facility where he has still been.

My dad has been so strong during this time. He is currently paralyzed on the right side of his body. Is going through occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. He can only say a handful of words but works hard every day to speak. The stroke affected his cognition and comprehension abilities as well and he does need round the clock care.

Prior to the stroke my dad enjoyed fishing, riding horses, camping, drawing, and spending time with family. He worked at a local assisted nursing facility as a Director of Environmental Services. He has dedicated most of his young life to raising his 5 children. Three of the five kids, Jennifer, Quyana (myself), and Jr. are not biological his, you would never know the difference, and because of the amazing man he is he help my mother raise us and support us our entire lives. The two youngest, JC and RJ, are his biological boys, are twins who just graduated highschool with one currently in boot camp for the military. Unfortunately this tragedy will impact my younger brothers and parents dramatically as he can not return to work at this time or in the near future.

I decided to do this campaign to help my mom and dad financially. Since this has occured my mother hasn't left my dads side and even stays the night at the rehab facility with him. I want to help my mom with her housing bills, food, medical expenses, renovations to make their home wheelchair accessible, provide for the twins, and etc.

Thank you for all the continued prayers. This has been extremely hard on my family and until now we have kept it fairly private. We appreciate all the love and support we have received thus far. I will keep updates on how my father is doing.
