It is with a heavy heart we share the very unexpected passing of Sharon Guzman, George Guzman’s wife. While George has been in the hospital fighting for his life after a heart transplant, with many complications and additional surgeries to keep him alive. George received news, just after Father’s Day that the love of his life unexpectedly passed away.
With just 3 short weeks, George is finally medically healed enough to come home. Now the family is planning a funeral and looking at how all the post medical care is going to take place.
6 months ago, prior to George’s transplant, he only had 6 months at best to live. It was a huge blessing that everyone rallied together to help them through and then the call came. Georgie got his new heart! George fought hard and Sharon kept their spirits up.
Sharon was the driving force of George’s recovery, and both spent many nights in the hospital about the future. This got George, Sharon, and the family through all the chaos they faced due to all the complications. Now that future looks different, and Georgie is heartbroken. Their son from Florida has come to visit and their daughter from Georgia has been there to help George through this unimaginable time.
Sharon spoke with us often after the new heart and shared all the exciting things they looked forward to and what life would be like for them a year from now. She was so grateful for everything that everyone has done to help get them through the unthinkable. Whether it be prayers, donations, texts, etc. Sharon was just happy to be by George’s side knowing how many people loved and cared for them.
George is still recovering and has many more expense with only one disabled income and many months of recovery still to come, along with funeral expenses for his beloved wife.
Here we are friends, reaching out with every ounce of our being for our dear friend George Guzman. If you would like to donate to George Guzman, 100% of the monies collected will go towards the funeral expenses for Sharon & any leftover monies will go towards the expenses he will accrue that the insurance will not cover.
Now with Sharon passing, it will be a bit more difficult taking care of not only day to day issues, but there will also be additional 3-hour drives for follow ups for the next 6 months. George will have additional expenses with day-to-day care, now that it will be just him at home.
Let’s keep them in prayer and if you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing.
