Just days before Christmas, we had an unexpected death. Leo Leyendecker was a loved father and grandfather among many other things. He unexpectedly passed away days before Christmas and his son is desperately trying to give him the funeral service he deserves.
Leo was the Vice President of the Little League Baseball at South Austin Optimist for 32 years. He spent most of his time at the baseball field and doing what he truly loved. He was also recognized in the Austin Sports Hall of Honor.
Leo developed kidney disease that later led to kidney failure. He fought this for many years and had dialysis three times a week. Leo pushed through and continued to devote as much time as he could to the baseball league until he was physically unable to do so.
Leo’s only son lives about 7 hours away and due to COVID restrictions has been on leave at work. His son is desperately trying to raise money to help pay for funeral and cremation expenses. He has made trips back and fourth to Austin to try and make arrangements, but this has gotten costly. We would appreciate your donation as his son is a young father and we would love to give Leo the service he deserves.
