My name is Tabatha. I was hesitant to create the GoFundMe, as I was, hoping such a financial need would not arise. In May 2023, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease, along with several other medical conditions, including mixed connective tissue disease, hypermobility Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), polyarthritis, Raynaud's disease, and Sjogren's syndrome.

Due to the aggressive nature of the mixed connective tissue disease, I underwent a left hip replacement surgery in November 2023. Although I had previously experienced a successful recovery from a right hip replacement in September 2020, my recent postoperative journey has been far from smooth.

My underlying autoimmune disease has escalated, causing further complications within my body. Consequently, I have been attending multiple medical consultations, all of which carry considerable financial burdens. I am currently going to physical therapy, along with seeing a number of doctors with each visit costing $65. I am also scheduled to undergo a WBC scan next week which will cost $300, even with health insurance.

I have submitted an application for long-term disability, however, I have been informed that a decision will not be rendered for another three weeks. Regrettably, the prolonged waiting period of nearly two months has resulted in the depletion of our savings.

My husband and I are the proud parents of two children. My husband has been tirelessly working to provide for our family during this challenging period. It is with a heavy heart that I share our financial struggle, for we have always been more accustomed to giving back to our community rather than asking for assistance. However, our current circumstances have forced us into a situation we could never have foreseen.
