Need help, being sued 45K for life saving surgery; Tumor

This is extremely hard for me to write. And I write it with a heavy heart, never having to have asked for any handout from anybody.

My life got turned upside down March 3, 2023 when I got rushed into surgery and told that I was going to potentially have a complete hysterectomy. They had found a cyst that had burst that was connected to my fallopian tube, and they were confident that I was going to lose my fallopian tube.

The surgery was immediate and it was also Life, saving surgery, considering if it did not get taken care of immediately, the cancer cells would have become malignant in my body, and I would have potentially had to have chemotherapy.

At 35 years old this is One of the hardest things to hear is a woman because all I’ve ever wanted is to have a family.

When I arrived at the hospital, the hospital staff could not ascertain the cause, and it was too complicated for them. Thus they needed to call in an expert. I was incapacitated at the time and nobody told me that there was going to be any type of cost that was extra for this expert to come in. They just told me somebody else needed to come in and address the problem.

I was then in surgery in the next couple days. With this supposed expert that they brought in to finally figure out what was wrong.

Luckily enough, I did not have to have a hysterectomy. They removed the cyst and cancer cells flooting thru my blood.

Unfortunately they found a tumor, the size of a grapefruit embedded in the back of my uterus, pushing on my spine.

They do not want to remove it due to excessive scar tissue and they are hoping I can try and conceive before having to have it removed.

This is an extremely scary thing to deal with on my own own as I live by myself in a state that my parents do not live in. And my parents are elderly 70 and 78.

When the doctor came in for the emergency room visit, failed to get authorization by my insurance and charged $8000 just to see me in the emergency room.

After the surgery he would charge me $500, $3500, $600, offer the same types of visits, which were just check up that involved bloodwork. None of the medical bills made sense and he was in my insurance although because he failed to get the authorization they would not cover anything.

because of the incompetence of the doctors and billing people that worked there. They did not do what they needed to do to cover it with my insurance when it was supposed to be within network.

Now I am being sued for $45,000 for a life-saving surgery that I was told was in network.

At this point, I’m at a loss for words and I do not know what to do. And I am not wealthy enough to counter sue for the incompetence of the staff.

And with all this, I still have a humongous tumor living in my body. Which is also extremely scary and can become symptomatic at any time. Luckily, right now it is asymptomatic.

as a result of trying to pay for these bills, I became more in debt and ended up losing my vehicle due to repossession.

Because my car was repossessed I also lost my job because I was not able to get back-and-forth.

I’m still in a difficult scenario Living on food, stamps, and trying to figure out ways to get a job. And be able to travel back-and-forth from it in a cost-effective way.

So in total I am in over my head at almost $45k in medical and 18k in what I put on my repossessed vehicle.

Needless to say, I feel like I have hit rock-bottom. And this is not only embarrassing. But it’s also extremely humbling. If you have any questions for me, I have no problem answering them!

I in debt more than what most people make in one year, and I am at a loss for words at this point.
