On July 27, I was involved in a hit-and-run accident caused by an drunk & uninsured driver. Thankfully, I was okay, but my car was left with significant damage. I luckily got this on footage from a nearby business (shout out Apollo Spa & Salon), and confirmed with my insurance company that I was 100% not at fault. Despite that, I’m now facing thousands of dollars in expenses that insurance will not cover, which the other drivers insurance should have been responsible for had they had it.

Between my deductible, the difference in required repair parts for my lease, rental while my car is being repaired, and other costs associated with the accident, I’m looking at $5,000 out of pocket for something I had absolutely no control over.

This also happened on the heels of my ectopic pregnancy and the unexpected medical expenses that came along with it. I’m not asking for help with those medical bills, but having this accident happen immediately afterward has made an already challenging few months even harder financially.

I spoke with an attorney about recovering these costs from the driver, but unfortunately, I was advised that pursuing her financially would likely cost more than I would ever be able to recover.

I went back and forth about creating this because asking for help is uncomfortable for me. There is absolutely no expectation for anyone to donate, but a few people encouraged me to make a page so that anyone who wants to help has the opportunity to do so.

Anything raised will go directly toward the expenses I’m responsible for because of the accident. Even just sharing this means a lot to me.
