Hi, my name is Christian, and I am fundraising to fulfill a portion of recent unexpected medical bills. After eating ill-prepared seafood, I experienced extreme food poisoning that caused an infection, attacked several organs, and left me in the ICU for a week. Also, due to this infection, I developed type 1 diabetes, which I was predisposed to genetically. This diagnosis is unexpected as I lived a healthy, active lifestyle before this incident, and this has wholly derailed my life. Aside from this health scare, this experience has put me in a dangerous financial position as I lost my job and can not work currently because I am still in recovery. Although I have proper health insurance, the cost of this hospital visit and my medications are astronomical, and I do not have the finances to complete these payments independently. While I do not expect to be able to fulfill them entirely based on donations, anything and everything helps.
