Hello, this GoFundMe has been created for my Brother David and sister in law Alyssa who recently have had their whole world put on a sudden hold due to an unexplainable infection inside of Alyssa’s body. Alyssa was admitted to Carson Tahoe on Sept. 26th. with severe abdominal pain. She has been in the hospital ever since. They have ran test after test and have yet to come up with any solid diagnosis. They are transporting her to The University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City for further medical treatment and care. Alyssa and Dave recently welcomed their baby boy Soren into this world on on Sept. 14th. Soren is a blessing to their already beautiful blended family. David and Alyssa are dedicated, wonderful and loving parents to their family of 6 kids, ages 16, 14, 11, 10, 7 and 4 weeks. Two beautiful young girls and 4 handsome boys. What should be a time of bonding, new family pictures, memories and overall joy has been anything but. Alyssa was only able to spend a little over a week with her family before being admitted. Alyssa is not only a devoted, loving partner to Dave, and a doting, dedicated mother to her own children, she also is a very dedicated teacher for the Carson city school district and to the children in her class and their families. David is also a hard working, devoted, loving, and solid partner and father to both Alyssa and the kids. Dave and Alyssa are very giving people and always the first to help anyone with anything in any situation. They always have a hand out to assist and hardly ever never say, “sorry we can’t”. They are easily friends with everyone and have a great connection with the community, the people they work with and most times even strangers. Now they need our help. Dave owns his own flooring and renovation company and has had to put any and all projects on hold while he stays next to Alyssa’s side. Unfortunately, what should have been a happy 6 week maternity leave for Alyssa and baby has been anything but that due to her spending the majority of it in the hospital and here in 2 weeks her leaves stops all together. Both Dave and Alyssa will not be bringing home any sort of income to help assist with upcoming mortgages, utilities, medical bills etc, as well as the doubled cost of living for Dave while he is in SLC with Alyssa. This GoFund me is intended to help raise money to ease the stress and burdens of figuring out how to make sure ALL bills are taken care of, any gas costs and lodging due to travel, possible flights for the older kids to visit Dave and Alyssa during the duration of her hospital stay in SLC, and any unplanned medical expenses both recent and future when this is all said and done. Doctors have already said that even with the best outcome Alyssa’s recovery will be a long one. With our huge family from both Dave’s side as well as Alyssa’s, there is already a wonderful support team and everyone is doing what they can to help in any way. But there is always room for more help. It takes a village.
