Unexpected Hardship: A Plea for Help

Hi everyone, I've hit a rough(er) patch since my best friend, Gael passed away in November. I was on temporary disability, and it ended with no warning earlier this month. They only notified me after the fact, and it was a shock. I now have almost no income at the moment, and I went into quite a bit of debt while I was taking care of Gael just to keep myself afloat while trying to keep her alive.

While this wasn't the way I wanted to announce it, my husband John and I have been separated for almost 3 years and are now in the process of getting divorced (amicably). We didn’t do it sooner because I was taking care of Gael, thus not able to work full time, and needed to stay on his health insurance due to my health issues and medications. I’m still living with him, and we’re working as a team to take care of our daughter Maude, but after I get full time work (which I'm hustling to do) and can save up for a bit, I’ll be getting a place with my boyfriend, and John and I will split custody of Maude 50/50.

That said, I’m out of money at this point, and while I’ve received some money from my family and some friends to keep me afloat through at least mid-May, I’m worried about the upcoming shortages on everything and the increased prices. I’m trying to stock up on household essentials and non-perishable/frozen food now, so we don’t have to worry so much about how we’re going to get them (and afford them) later. I'm also an insulin-dependent Diabetic and have Hashimoto's Disease so I'm incredibly worried about shortages of my medications. I'm trying to stock up on at least insulin before things get scary, but my insurance won't cover extra meds and I'll have to pay out of pocket, which is *very* expensive (for perspective, my health insurance saved me over $50k last year on my prescriptions and I still paid almost $1k in copays).

I know things are hard for everyone right now, and our economic future is incredibly scary, but anything you can do to help would be much appreciated. ❤️❤️❤️
