Unexpected Death of Wife-Mother-Grandmother
Donation protected
Our mother, Sheilah Benjamin, died unexpectedly on April 3, 2022 leaving all of her family and friends devastated. She was a very strong woman of God who stood firm on all her beliefs with the utmost integrity, but was also loving, compassionate, and wanted the best for any and everybody she encountered, even when they did not deserve it. She gave of herself to anyone, however and whenever she could. We have received so many cards, phone calls, chats and txts from people telling us how much of a blessing she was to them, whether it be items, financially or just words of wisdom they really needed to hear.
She and our Dad lived on the same block until they married and started their lives together as a family. May 5, 2022 would have been their 48th anniversary. She not only ran the household, but also handled all the finances for all of their lives together in addition to ensuring all his other needs were taken care of. We promised our mother in the event she left before him, we would do everything in our power to ensure he is taken care of and we intend to live up to this promise. With her untimely passing we will be moving our dad from South Carolina back to Virginia, so he can be close to family.
Her husband/our dad is on disability and on a fixed income. We want to allow our dad to grieve without the added stress of trying to figure out how he is going to be able to manage his future without her. We have sat down and looked through the current state of their finances so we could set a realistic plan and budget for him to manage things for himself and determined if we can eliminate some of the outstanding debt, he would be able to successfully manage for himself with his income going forward. The funds raised will go towards the moving expenses and the payoff of outstanding debt so that he is able to be successfully independent in his new reality.
Mom was always about coming together and supporting each other. We thank you in advance for any assistance you may provide. In addition, ALL prayers are welcome.
