Unexpected death leaves daughter hopeless & alone

My name is Sierra Aviles. I am a 20-year-old full-time college student learning how to navigate life, and coming here is something unfathomable but is the only option I have. Just when I thought everything was figured out, life chose to take everything from me. Not only did life take my best friend, but it has also taken my whole world, my mom. My mom was the funniest, most down-to-earth person you could have ever met and she did everything for me. From paying the bills and college tuition to helping me choose interview outfits and what to eat for dinner. I like to think that I am a pretty independent and strong-willed person, but suddenly I feel more lost than I ever have before. She was all I had left in this world and everything I do is for her. She was the only person I had in my life and now she won’t get to see me graduate college, get married, or get the chance to play at the park with her future grandkids. My mom sacrificed everything in life to give me the opportunity for something better and I won’t lose sight of that. I have always dreamt of becoming a pediatric oncologist and working at St. Jude children’s hospital. As I layed next to her, I made a promise that no matter what, I wouldn’t give up on those dreams. I am currently a junior attending High Point University in North Carolina with a 3.97 GPA. I am unsure of how I am going to afford my education, basic living expenses, funeral costs, and hospital bills. As much as coming to this has brought me more pain to write, I cannot give up on that promise and I ask everyone who can help to please do.

To my mama:

I will get the farm we always dreamt of. But most importantly, I will never lose sight of the person you raised me to be. I will make you proud mama. I love you more than words will ever explain and I am so grateful I got to experience a love as amazing as ours. I don’t really know where to go from here, but I won’t give up.
