Unexpected Cancer Diagnosis for John
Donation protected
A letter from John’s loved ones:
Dear friends and family,
We need your help paying for sudden medical bills after John’s cancer diagnosis.
Medical treatment is expensive and necessary
In November of last year, John went to the doctor with stomach pain. Initial tests said that it was a cancerous growth near his pancreas and they prepared him for surgery to remove it. But directly before his procedure, the surgeon discovered that the cancer had spread into his liver as well. More testing found further growth in his body and chemotherapy was the only option to treat what was then called an adenocarcinoma.
A month into the year and we have already been billed for thousands of dollars of medical care. Even with insurance covering some of the costs, John is still being billed for appointments and tests. Since he is unable to work, these expenses are a huge challenge for our family. We need your help paying for this initial cost and making sure that he can still afford his bills and groceries.
Help us reach our goal so John may continue to live long and prosper
John is looking forward to retiring next year and having time to explore the Coastal Carolina shores. He is a lifelong fisherman and boating enthusiast, as well as an amazing gardener and cook. While he grew up in California, he’s lived in Germany, New England, and now Swansboro, NC.
Please keep John in your mind and prayers as he begins treatment. He just finished his first chemotherapy transfusion this week and it went well! We hope that soon he can be on fewer painkillers and feel less foggy. We'll update everyone here as things are ongoing.
