Unexpected & overcoming an aneurysm!
As many of you already know Danette is at HCMC after an emergency call.
At 2:30pm on Tuesday October 20, she was admitted to HCMC. She had passed out and hit her head. Upon further examination, they found three aneurysms in her brain, one which had ruptured. She was rushed into emergency surgery to monitor and eventually stop the bleeding. She came out of surgery around 8:30 last night. The operations went well and now begins the road to recovery. They began to remove her from sedation last night and she passed the first few tests. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers in the coming weeks. She has a long path ahead of her, but I know how strong she is and how hard she is going to fight to recover. Thank you all!
UPDATE: Danette had the breathing tube removed earlier this afternoon. She is breathing on her own, but still heavily sedated. I’m truly overwhelmed by all the offers of prayer and support!
FINAL UPDATE FOR October 21: Kevin left the hospital at 7:30 this evening. Danette wasn’t showing any signs of weakness on either side of her body, which is a great sign! They have her stabilized and are monitoring her hourly. Thanks to all of the incredible doctors and nurses at HCMC! She’s receiving the best care around.
