For starters let me say in all my years of vet med this one suckered me hard. This little gal was turned over due to a fracture the owners wouldnt/couldnt do treatment for. She is only 6 months old so I want her to have a chance for a long life.
With that being said. Gracelynn’s new best friend needs a surgery. In normal circumstances, I would have gotten her insurance to prepare myself for such an injury in the future. However, I was NOT expecting to bring her home. Since this will be a pre existing condition they will deny coverage for her surgery. I know everyone is strapped these days, but if you have anything to spare my way to help me out: it would be appreciated so I can do what’s best for this precious girl!
Also for context, I work in General Practice, so short of amputating she needs a board certified surgeon to place pins and secure the bone which is why I could benefit from donations. Specialty surgeons are more expensive and I was not prepared for her. But I want to save her leg if I can!!!
update: At this time due to the cost of the more advanced procedure, I have decided to plan for amputation. I hate this for a-lot of reasons but at the end of the day, I do not want her to be in more pain for a longer time than she has too. With that being said she can have this done on Friday. Donations are still appreciated but I plan to end this fundraiser as soon as her surgery is done. I will use any money leftover to be used for her future spay that will be done at a later time when she has recovered, or any other pets that are surrendered to us for care.
thank you so much from the bottom of my heart !
