Unemployment and illness have brought us to this.

David was laid off from Roku very unexpectedly in November 2022. At the same time, Naomi was coping with super high levels of Epstein-Barr and Lyme disease. While David received a severance payment, Naomi's treatments together with the death of our rabbit Hyacinth, and several big unplanned household expenses cut into our funds severely.

We have managed due to David's exceptional budgeting skills, and living very simply. But we are now facing the very sobering and worrying prospect of running out of money. We are doing all we can to raise funds currently, as Naomi is very actively concentrating on her business, Sophie's GF Bake Shop; we have approached our synagogue to help us with resources and possibly short term funding. Most significant of all, David is looking constantly and extremely seriously for employment.

What we are asking for is donations to buy time for David to find new employment. We will continue all of our efforts unabated.
