My name is Ethan, I am 23 years old and live in Tennessee. I work as a Call Center Agent for a Contracted company to take calls and assist customers with their accounts and inquiries regarding said accounts. That was the case, until I was laid off...

Recently, I along with almost two-thirds of my entire staff team were terminated from our jobs without warning. There was no way to appeal, no discussion to be had, we were just let go. The reason being is because we "weren't performing according to their expectations." Basically despite most of us giving it our all, it still wasn't good enough. I've worked tirelessly to try to find another job and have applied to over a dozen different places, but to no avail. The only place that said they would hire me, cannot start training me until February.

For those who don't know me, or who do but do not know of my condition, I have been diagnosed with a disability known as "Pes Cavus." It's a foot deformity that can cause nerve damage, and it causes me great stress and pain to stand for elongated amounts of time. The only way to cure this is by physical training which, according to my neurologist, can take up to 12-15 years to complete. This disability prevents me from doing most standing jobs, and the amount of desk jobs are rapidly disappearing where I am located.

I have already applied for disability benefits with the Social Security Administration, but they stated that it can take up to 6-8 months before they come to a conclusion on whether I am approved or denied.

Rent is coming up soon and as much as I hate to say it, I need help. I cannot afford to wait over half a year to find out if I'm eligible for benefits or not. And I cannot be without a job for the next 3 months with rent and bills that will be due. So I am making this GoFundMe in hopes someone will be able to assist.

I set the starting goal to $300 because I figured it would be more approachable to ask for a small amount, then to ask for a large sum and potentially scare people away. The costs for my Rent and bills comes up to about $600/month. I'm not asking anyone to take out loans to send me thousands of dollars to help me out, just that you send whatever you can spare. I hate asking for help as I believe it makes me look weak and pathetic, but at this point I have no other options.

The money you send will be able to help me pay off my monthly rent (December has been taken care of as far as rent goes, still need funds for other bills), as well as pay for my electric bills, my cellphone bill to stay in touch with potential hiring jobs, and help pay for food and utilities as well. Any amount would be greatly appreciated and will help me survive the coming months.
