Une grange pour les animaux

Au secours!! Nous avons besoin d’une grange!!
Les derniers mois ont apporté de nombreux changements imprévus à SAFE pour lesquels nous sommes très reconnaissants. Avec l’aide du Refuge RR, nous avons réussi à sauver un petit veau orphelin d’une mort certaine et de lui donner un foyer pour toujours (notre beau Léo). Nous avons également accueilli le veau de Bailey, Marty, né à SAFE et qui est le miracle surprise d’une insémination passée. Nous éprouvons une énorme joie à regarder Léo et Marty grandir et découvrir le monde ensemble, sous le regard protecteur de Bailey. Nous sommes reconnaissants que ces deux bébés, au moins, grandissent en connaissant le goût de la liberté.
Mais que signifient tous ces changements pour SAFE ? La vérité est que nous sommes ravis de pouvoir agrandir notre famille. Cette joie engendre toutefois beaucoup de stress et d'inquiétude. Léo et Marty sont encore petits maintenant, mais ils grandissent à une vitesse alarmante. Les cornes de Calvin (notre magnifique taureau Holstein qui est devenu adulte) touchent le plafond de la grange depuis un certain temps, et Nemoo (notre adorable taureau Jersiais aussi devenu adulte) s’impatiente chaque matin pour sortir de son petit enclos le plus rapidement possible. Les chèvres aussi se plaignent souvent du manque d’espace dans leur enclos.
Nous n’avons d'autre choix que de construire une grange pour accueillir notre famille grandissante. Comme beaucoup d'entre vous le savent, les hivers québécois sont longs et rigoureux. À SAFE nous nous faisons un devoir de garder tous nos animaux au chaud bien douillets tout au long de cette dure saison. Pour accomplir l’immense tâche de la construction d’une grange avant l’hiver, nous avons désespérément besoin de votre aide.
Nous devons recueillir 100 000 $ dès que possible pour commencer à construire dans les prochains mois. Nous ne pourrons absolument pas faire cela sans votre aide, et nous espérons de tout cœur que vous, notre famille élargie, pourrez agir pour nous et pour les animaux. L'avenir de notre famille dépend de vous et des vôtres. Ensemble, nous croyons que nous pouvons réussir. Faisons-le pour eux.

Help! We need a barn!
The last few months have brought many unforeseen changes to SAFE that we are so very grateful for. With the help of Refuge RR we managed to save an orphan baby calf from certain death and give him a forever home (our beautiful Leo) and we also welcomed Bailey’s baby calf, Marty, who was born at SAFE and who is the surprise miracle of a past insemination. We have been feeling great joy in watching both Leo and Marty grow and learn about the world together, under Bailey’s loving eyes, and we are thankful that these two babies, at least, will grow up knowing the taste of freedom.
But what do all of these changes mean for SAFE? The truth is that we are overjoyed to be able to grow our family but with this joy comes a great deal of stress and worry. Leo and Marty might be small now, but they are growing at an alarming rate. Calvin’s (our magnificent Holstein adult bull) horns have been touching the barn ceiling for awhile, and Nemoo (our adorable Jersey adult bull) has been growing antsy in the mornings to be let out of his small enclosure. The goats talk all the time about how they’d love a little more space.
There is no other choice for us but to build a barn to accommodate our growing family. As many of you know, Quebec winters are long and harsh. At SAFE, we make it our unwavering commitment to keep all the animals warm and cozy for the duration of this difficult season. To accomplish the huge task of building a barn before winter sets in, we are in desperate need of your help.
We need to raise 100,000$ as soon as possible to begin building within the next few months. We can’t possibly do this without your help, and we are hoping beyond hope that you, our extended family, can come through for us and for the animals. The future of our family depends on you and yours. Together, we believe that we can do this. Let’s do it for them.

$20,000 - building of perimeter fencing
$70,000 - materials, construction, installation of solar panels, and water well.
