Hi Family and Friends! 
I will be running the marathon for the very first time. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I want to use this marathon to fundraise for something very dear to my heart. That is, higher education for undocumented students.

As many of you know I am undocumented myself. I had to go through the struggle of finding money to pay for tuition. It is nothing easy. Along the way, I also met other undocumented students like myself who were struggling due to the financial barrier. What I learned was heartbreaking: very few undocumented students get to college, and even fewer graduate. A big factor has to do with the financial component.  

The only reason why I was able to make it through college was due to very limited private scholarships that helped to offset the large financial barrier. I will be forever thankful with all of the organizations and the people that work selflessly to create scholarships for undocumented students.  Using this marathon will be my small way of giving back to the community that helped me get through. 

For that reason, I will like to use this marathon to support other students continue their education by contributing to 2 different scholarships. The Anhelo Project Scholarship and the Dreamers Unidos Scholarship at Enlace Chicago. I have a big goal but I am certain that with your generosity and support I will be able to reach this goal.
