My name is Kayla, and I have suffered from medical neglect for years. I have had parasites in my muscles, heart, and brain for three years and I am just beginning to recover.

I returned from Argentina with a rash, GI issues and a headache, and was never treated. I went to ER several times throughout the year and was never given assistance, up until now. As of 3 days ago, a doctor listened to me and gave me the meds I needed. However, due to the length of time between it happening and treatment, the prognosis doesn't look good. I had parasites in my muscles, heart, brain, everywhere- and the effects are showing. Walking is hard, lifting my phone is hard, showering takes all my energy, and more. My muscles are weak and my head is cloudy, so returning to work is out of the question medically for at the very least a few months. This fundraiser aims to cover the missing funds from working those months so that I can begin recovering once and for all, and hopefully go on to live some semblance of a normal life.
