Hello Underlight Community!
Seven years, can you believe it?! This is how long KoiWare's era of Underlight has prospered! We have come a long way and our team has certainly grown with talented and creative individuals. To this day, we continue to bring Underlight to you without any subscription requirement. KoiWare, LLC does not monetize off Underlight. In fact, with the exception of light donations, which I will say have greatly helped with keeping the lights on, a fairly large percentage of the costs have been covered by KoiWare's team. Some of these cost have increased over the years. Especially back in 2019 when we went live on Steam. Before that point, we were not a LLC. Everyday donations have helped with replacement of the occasional failed server hard drive and certainly helped with power and ISP costs. For this we are grateful! What it cannot cover unfortunately is the LLC and hardware replacement costs. Now with that said, I have some great news to share. Our aging hard drives have been completely replaced replaced with new hardware. This was a direct hardware in a box donation and the team is grateful to the anonymous donator.
What is left over are the LLC costs of 2020/2021. In order to keep Underlight up and available in Steam, we are required to have an established LLC within the state of Indiana. Being part of Steam means a couple of things: a) increased visibility, which for the dream is important!; b) Ease of installation of the Underlight client.
Below are the list of costs we would like to cover moving into 2021 so that we can continue to provide you with Underlight well into the future!

Banking fees: $120.00
LLC fees: $516.00
Grand Total: $636.00
License Note: Our Underlight license agreement requires us to send 15% of the money raised from GoFundMe to Brent Phillips.
Any additional donations made outside of requested costs above will go towards future keeping the lights on costs.
