Dear friends and colleagues,

I am trying to raise funds to finish a 20 minute poetic essay documentary I have been working on for the past year. It is called 'Undercurrents: meditations on power.' It’s a song for the dark times about the undercurrents of history playing out in the present. It is also (at its heart) about the power of resistance.

I have tried to work simply and cheaply by editing it myself and drawing on my archive of film work to reimagine existing images and sounds to tell a new story. I have also bought some video stock shots and photographs.

I have retired from my university job and, as there there is no government funding for short films, I have been using my savings. Now I have a fine cut and I am heading for the expensive post-production and distribution phase and I need a bit of help.

I will keep you informed as to the progress of the film and once it is in distribution, I will send you a copy. You will also get a thank you in the film credits.

No amount is too small :)
