On Monday 4 March 2019,  15 year old Daniel was hit by a train in Sydney’s south and suffered devastating injuries.  Daniel lost his lower legs, fractured his skull, lost function of his right hand due to nerve damage and suffered a tremendous amount of blood loss that nearly claimed his life.  That’s the bad news.  The good news is Dan’s an athlete who is fit and strong with youth on his side.  He’s a super hero to have survived this incredible trauma.  With the right care, Dan has the promise of a bright future and a full life ahead where he can be an inspiration to others. That night has forever changed this young man’s - and his family’s - life.    Daniel’s mum, Christina Ngawhika, who is the beneficiary for Daniel will be assisting him 24/7 through this ordeal which makes employment difficult for her at the moment. Amongst other changes ahead, Christina will likely need to move home to accomodate the new reality.  We’re calling for your help to defray some of the immense costs that Dan and his family face going forward.  Dan is currently in children’s ward at Sydney’s St George Hospital on his journey to recovery.    Please give what you can.  We’ll update as the situation progresses.
