Uncle's Journey: Healing After Heroism
Donation protected
On 02/18/2025, my uncle was driving to work in the early morning when a motorcyclist in front of him lost control of his motorcycle and hit one of the road construction signs. My uncle pulled over to the side to get down and check on him because, unfortunately, he was not moving. Finally, he was able to get a response, with the motorcycle driver asking him to please help him. While trying to phone the police, another vehicle came rushing down the road. My uncle tried desperately to pull him out of the way, but unfortunately, that other vehicle hit both my uncle and the motorcycle driver, throwing them both into the air and into oncoming traffic. Somehow, my uncle was able to roll into the median lane and tried to get to the motorcycle driver, who was unconscious. But unfortunately, he was not able to, and the motorcycle driver was hit three more times and sadly did not make it. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family.
We are very thankful and grateful that my uncle is here with us today, but it did come at a cost while trying to save someone else's life. We, as a family, have tried to help as much as we can, but we have a long road ahead of us. My uncle's leg was broken in several parts, as well as his arm, toes, and ribs. He has had multiple surgeries and is finally out of the hospital, but unfortunately, he has a long road to recovery as he is wheelchair-bound until he can gain his strength and heal from his leg to be able to walk again and return to his job as a construction worker.
At this moment in time, we ask if you can donate anything to help. Nothing is too small. If you're not able to donate money, we understand. We just ask you to donate a few moments of your time by sharing his story and his GoFundMe. I do, from the bottom of my heart, want to thank everyone in advance because it's never said enough.
