Uncle Theron
Donation protected
In late July, 2016, our Uncle Theron Coleman experienced a stroke and had to be rushed from Lake Leelanau to Grand Rapids. He had to remain in the hospital in Grand Rapids where he received treatment and care for about 3 weeks. A result of this stroke was something called Aphasia . A condition that does not allow Uncle Theron to verbally communicate as well as he formally could. He knows what he wants to say but is unable to transform those thoughts into words. He has undergone therapy since he returned home from the hospital in August but is not seeing the results, he has hoped for. It is frustrating for him to not be able to communicate with his friends, his co-workers, his family, his wife (our Aunt Amy) and most of all his children - Megan (10), Ethan (10) and Travis (4).
The University of Michigan has an intensive therapy program - Mary A. Rackham Institute Center for Language and Literacy . Uncle Theron has been accepted into the program. However, the cost of the program is $15,000 (that is without housing and food costs). None of this cost is covered by insurance. We are doing everything we can to help Uncle Theron get his voice back. We are asking you to consider assisting us in helping Uncle Theron. No donation is too small. Thank you for considering.
