Donation protected
Our hearts our broken this day as our dear Grandfather Woableza (Robert Labatte) has begun his journey home to the stars. We are calling on all those who love him to support his Wanagi kiglapi, Spirit Going Home Ceremony and Funeral Rites.
Woableza’s final wish was to be buried in the traditional Lakota/Dakota way with his family in South Dakota. We are gathering resources to realize his final prayer in the best way possible.
Woableza touched myriad hearts as a gifted storyteller and traditional Lakota/Dakota nations Wisdom Keeper. He is deeply respected among his Lakota/Dakota family, many of whom will need support to travel home for this ceremony. His adopted family extends far and wide, and hundreds with gather to pay their final resects. It will require signficant resources to bring everyone together to do this in a good way.
Please donate to support Woableza’s final wish to bring his family together, for multiple days, to perform traditional Lakota death rites and send his spirit home.
We are raising money to cover the many to perform traditional ceremonial rites and
Ceremonial foods and supplies for multiple days
