Uncle Paul: Grow His Legacy of Investing in Kids

Donation protected
My brother Paul Grant, Jr. died suddenly on New Years' Eve 2019 at 52.
He was a pillar of hope and inspiration for his nieces, nephews, me, and everyone who was blessed to know him.
My brother lived with our parents. He took care of our parents in everything, from helping with cooking and cleaning to shoveling snow in the winter and everything in between.
I’m asking for financial support to help with the impact his death has had on our family. Funds will help with the ongoing care of my parents, but I hope you’ll help me do more to honor my brother’s life. As the funds will also go towards stories like Sons of Caasi , and other stories we shared or discussed as kids.
My brother never married or had any children of his own, but he invested his life in every young person he knew. He was devoted to his nieces and nephews and children of countless friends for whom he was a beloved uncle.
In addition to his responsibilities as chief technology officer for a regional health center, Paul took the initiative to launch a program for local kids to learn about the hospital and be inspired to achieve their dreams.
We plan to use crowdfunding for the first time to launch a philanthropic foundation in Paul Grant, Jr.’s name. A non-profit organization, the foundation will support selfless individuals like him, who are willing to fill the void of fatherless, abandoned, and at-risk children, a cause that was dear to his heart.
My brother was a dreamer, a creative who had so many wild ideas and stories; our family would love to make some of those ideas a reality.
This is the first step in helping us share Uncle Paul's story. Please help financially if you can, but if not, your prayers will work just fine.

As Uncle Paul always said, "See ya when I see ya!”

Uncle Paul -See Ya, When I See Ya!

Everyone has a dad,
but an Uncle Paul is not easily had.

He stood way above the rest,
though his stature was far less.

When I was 5, so young and naive
I proudly bragged about all of Uncle Paul’s fearless deeds

When a bully sought to beat me down
I had no fear, because Uncle Paul was around

We made up stories of worlds beyond,
Repackaged legends of years long gone
Heroes who traveled through time and space,
To share THE story of salvation and grace.

He nurtured gardens, not of his own seed,
when uncaring dads would fail and leave.

He was never too old to wrestle and play
with a childlike soul all of his days.

Disciplined and strong, as a man should be
Yet humbled himself at night on his knees

Praying to God for a wife and kids of his own,
That blessing from God, he sought for so long.

In a still, small voice,
The Lord would say,
“It won’t be long, Paul. I’m on THE WAY.”

To work every morning,
by the sweat of his brow,
tired and weary, onward he’d plow.

Uncle Paul knew his duties and the role he must play.
All that he wanted was on THE WAY.

Though Sam and Tom have well-known names,
a crown in heaven they’ll never gain

Uncle Paul’s crown will be cast at the feet
of the Ancient of Days, he so longed to meet.

Don’t weep for Uncle Paul,
weep for a fallen world filled with greed
and self-focused men unwilling to intercede,
Weep for the sanctity of marriage lost, unborn babies tossed.

Is this really where we’d rather be?

So, Mom and Dad be proud of what your child has become
The story isn’t over but has just begun

You never knew what Uncle Paul would be,
but look, he’s a legend, a legacy,
The true example of what all uncles should be.

So we’ll tell the story
to all who will hear,
that every child needs an Uncle Paul near

You so inspire all I hope to be
‘Cause before you were uncle,
you were a big brother to me

So I’ll wipe away the tears,
with still so much to say

I can hear you saying,
“Night’s on the way,
The doorbell is ringing,
Work while it’s day.

The war is at hand,
Little ones are needy,
Who will answer and stand?

Jesus paid the price,
So we can answer the call
I’ll see ya when I see ya,”
that’s Uncle Paul.
