Hi I’m Jim. I have a great job, a wonderful wife , Carrie, and my kids are grown and out of the house! I’m enjoying my golden years. I travel all over the country to new and exciting places, got some money tucked away in the bank….Yes, life is good.
At least that’s what I thought a year ago….because that was my life a year ago. Before I started having stomach pains, before I was ignoring my wife’s plea to go to the Doctor, before the pains got so bad that I couldn’t get out of the bed, before that damning x-ray, before my diagnosis of Stage 4 Colon Cancer, and before they told me I had one year to live.
It’s been a year, and I would be lying if I said I’m ok. I’m not. The pain is crippling…..even with the strongest pain meds. The plight of the cancer patient going through weekly Chemo. I couldn’t work anymore, then the medical bills drained our accounts, then the emotional toll it took on me and my family called for a new kind of strength.
I’m a man of few words…and very much someone who stays in my own corner. But family encouraged me try this Gofundme thing to get some financial help. So as I ask for your support, I would like to thank my family and friends who continuously support us with their time, deeds, kind encouraging words, prayers, and financially. It is truly comforting to know that Carrie and my kids have people who love them as much as I do.
