UNCC MT at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival

Hello!
As co-coordinators of the UNC Charlotte Musical Theatre Certificate program, we are excited to announce that two of our students, Logan Pavia and Charity Williams, have been selected to perform this summer with the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival in their student production of the musical Hair. Out of hundreds of students who auditioned from across the country, it's truly remarkable (though not surprising to us!) that several of our students were chosen to take part in this fantastic opportunity.
The festival is a tuition-based professional development program where chosen students participate in workshops, voice lessons, and classes that culminate in the mainstage production. The total cost to participate is $4,950 which includes full room/board, tuition, and meals. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from Hawaii and for transportation while on the Big Island.
Thus, we have put together this GoFundMe in hopes of providing some financial support for our talented and worthy students seeking to participate in this exceptional summer professional development opportunity. While each of the students did receive a small scholarship to put toward the cost of the program tuition, we are doing everything we can to help them raise the funds required to take part in this program.

We are also planning to have a benefit concert Saturday, May 7th with two showings which will occur at 2:00 pm at Selwyn Ave Presbyterian Church (2929 Selwyn Ave Charlotte, NC 28209), and 7:00 pm at Sharon Presbyterian Church (5201 Sharon Road Charlotte, NC). The concert is free, but a free-will donation to help cover the costs of these students attending the festival will occur.
As you can see, we are deeply invested in our students' success. They have worked so hard to develop their talents, and now that they're being rewarded with such a prestigious opportunity, we hope you can help us get them to their goal so they can continue to learn and develop in their professional goals.
Please let us know if you have any questions and thank you! Every little bit helps!
