As a 30 year veteran , very seasoned Pastor, my heart still burns more brightly than ever to shepherd and help God's people.
A few months ago the Pastor who sent me out to start my last church 20 years ago gave me a word from the Lord that God was soon going to expand my pulpit beyond just the local church. The idea came to me to create RadPastor.com, a radical new approach to Pastoring God's people through online ministry.
The need is definitely there. First are what I call "The Invisibles".
These people attend church but have no personal attention from a Pastor, as in the era of the mega-church it is easy to just become a face in the crowd, an attendee but not really connected. Churches can easily become more like corporations run by CEOs than sheepfolds where God's sheep are fed and nurtured.
Then there are "The Dones". These are good and godly people who have just burned out on the church thing. Many crave authentic experience of what church can be but have largely given up hope and have no plan to return to church as we know it. Yet their souls crave something organic and intimate, something raw and real.
Finally, there are "The Unchurched/Dechurched". They may or may not have a genuine relationship with the Lord but for whatever reason they are outside of organized church. Their lives are just too busy or they just don't feel comfortable in most churches.
All of these are deeply loved by God and need someone who can minister to them as well as pray for them by name, answer questions, be a Pastor to them. I believe God is calling me to do this online.
The format would be as follows:
1. A weekly podcast featuring a raw, organic time of simple worship as well as a message the Lord has laid on my heart that week.
2. A weekly podcast where I answer questions that my Partners send in revolving around real life situations they are facing and needing counsel in. This would be done of course in an anonymous way but the goal would be to do the work of authentic Pastoring , helping God's people when and where they truly need it.
3. Prayer. My commitment will be praying for each and every one of those who Partner with me on a monthly basis as I would consider them part of my flock. As anyone who has known me over the past 30 years, I am a faith-filled man of God who loves to pray and see real answers to prayer!
