Meet Ruger. He is the happiest, most loving 5 month old Golden Retriever and on Christmas Eve the unthinkable happened. Ruger was hit by an industrial loader with a plow right in front of our home. The driver didn't stop and we had no hope for Ruger as we didn't think he could survive such an accident. It was an extremely traumatizing night for all as the whole family was present. We held onto him as we thought he was taking his last breaths and in a last ditch effort he was rushed to the emergency vet. By God's grace he came to as soon as he arrived. It was touch and go that first night but he made it through and he has since surpassed so many milestones. This afternoon, Ruger was transported 2 hours away from our home to a vet hospital that is more equipped to handle his injuries. Rugers jaw is broken in 2 places and his hind leg unfortunately requires amputation We are not out of the woods yet as he lost alot of blood during the accident and we are hoping and praying he will not lose too much during his surgeries. Please keep our boy in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through these next few critical hours and days. Hes the toughest boy and hes fighting hard!! Ruger will need therapy long after his surgeries and we are trying to raise funds to help with medical costs associated with all that he requires. Thank you for your support ❤️
