Family and friends! Welcome to the UNC Women’s Club Soccer White gofundme page, we are glad you are here!
This year, our team had a winning record of 9-1-3 and ended the season as the division champions! We encountered tough competition at the regional tournament, but we are using that as motivation as we head to Round Rock, Texas in a few weeks for our 7th consecutive Nationals appearance.
The season has been incredibly tough because our long-time, beloved coach, Lars, passed away after a battle with colon cancer. His impact on our team and each of us as individuals is exceptional and lasting. Lars taught us what it meant to be both a loyal teammate and fierce competitor. With Lars’ legacy close to our hearts, the upcoming national tournament has taken on new meaning for us this year. But we need your help to get there!
We are so proud to have the opportunity to compete at the national level again, but unfortunately, this exciting excursion is not free. Thus, here we are— humbly requesting your support! Your contribution will go toward our flights, rental vans, and housing expenses while we are securing a national championship.
And if you need any further convincing, here are 3 more reasons why we deserve your support:
1. We wake up for weight training at 7.30am on Mondays which showcases our #dedication.
2. We double as a trivia team and we’re pretty good at it, not to brag.
3. Our soccer division is incredibly competitive but we came out #1 this season!
