UNC & GLE Movement Bikes for Kids Fundraiser
UNC is excited to announce a fundraiser in partnership with the GLE Movement .
The GLE Movement is founded by Janice Lowe who is a high school teacher in Malton, ON where she has been an educator for over 13 years. Janice has a specialty in Youth Outreach and started a community based organization called The GLE. Movement, which stands for Grow, Lead, Excel; the 3 pillars she hopes to strengthen in the youth she serves.
"I am so grateful that I can go outside and enjoy a ride on my bike whenever I want" - Samiira
"The bike I received has really been amazing. Now, I am able to ride everyday with my brother" - Okahlia
"A bike helped me because I am now able to help my mom do things, instead of her having to work and still have to go other places to complete errands" - Emmanuel
The GLE Movement seeks to engage and support youth, teens and young adults in Malton through community initiatives, resources and networks. Last year, their venture into the cycling community was sparked by the pandemic and the lack of bicycles in their school community. This propelled their Summer Cycle initiative to target that need.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 in July so that Janice can buy bicycles for her kids, pay for bicycle repairs and buy critical accessories like locks and helmets. Janice will be buying the bicycles off the used market and has over 20 kids on her waiting list who need a bike.
