Cancer friggin sucks!
You can’t solve it. None of us can. We can’t give families like the Gibsons what they really need, which is their kid’s health.
We can’t give JP the strength to be back on the pitcher’s mound. We can’t give him the freedom to walk out of the ICU so he can date and drive and do dumb teenage boy stuff.
We wish his gear bag was stinking up the house. We wish he was missing curfews.
We wish he was living his life, not fighting for it.
16-year-old JP Gibson is fighting cancer for the third time. He was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age two. After going into remission, it came back when he was seven, and then at 14.
That's why JP has had to be JP Strong his whole life. His parents (Josh, Megan) and siblings (Elsie, Theo) have been right there with him on the rollercoaster. Scared to hope, fighting back despair. All while trying to get JP to as many MLB stadiums as possible.
But instead of a stadium, JP is in the ICU.
They've thrown everything modern medicine's got at this cancer and now we're hoping for a miracle.
This fundraiser exists to remove as many financial obstacles as possible so that Megan and Josh can focus entirely on JP. Every dollar goes directly to the Gibson family to use where they need it most: lost wages, medical costs, daily expenses, and, if that miracle doesn't come, honoring JP's memory.
As JP's mom always says:
Take the trip.
Make the memories.
Be intentional with your time.
Love. Your. People.
