Vi è mai capitato di andare a dormire vedendo il vostro gattino di 3 mesi che gioca allegro e vivace nel letto e poi la mattina dopo trovarlo alle 6 immerso in un lago di bava in preda a crisi convulsive?
Sembra una storia assurda ma è proprio quello che è successo a noi con Audrey.
Questa piccola di 3 mesi è stata recuperata insieme alla sua mamma da una situazione di pericolo, lei e i suoi fratellini magri da far paura e tutti malati erano stati rimessi in piedi dalle mani abili e sapienti di una bravissima Tata e, erano giunti tutti in stallo qui da me, in attesa della loro casa per la vita.
Ed in effetti l'hanno trovata tutti, tranne Audrey che aspettava tranquilla e in salute il suo turno.
Finché una sera, siamo andati a letto tutti insieme, come ogni altro giorno vedendola giocare e rotolarsi, per poi essere svegliati alle 6 del mattino da degli strani rumori. Ci siamo ritrovati di fronte a una delle scene peggiori mai viste in vita nostra, lei era lì in un lago di bava e pipì in preda a crisi convulsive che si fermavano per poco tempo e ricominciavano dopo pochi minuti.
La corsa dal veterinario è stata immediata, è stata subito visitata e stabilizzata ma, dopo poco che l'abbiamo riportata a casa le crisi sono ritornate, più forti e aggressive, il ricovero è stato immediato, la paura tantissima e le speranze di uscirne molto, molto scarse.
È cominciata così una delle settimane più brutte vissute nella nostra vita, lei lottava con tutte le sue forze, circondata dall'amore e dalla professionalità dei Veterinari, piano piano le crisi sono diminuite, la febbre si è abbassata e i sintomi neurologici sono leggermente migliorati e così, abbiamo potuto riportarla a casa.
Al momento è monitorata, sta un po' meglio ma è costantemente sotto terapia farmacologica per evitare danno ancora più gravi di quelli che ha già subito.
Non sappiamo ancora cosa sia successo nello specifico, le ipotesi sono molte e per ora abbiamo potuto escluderne solo alcune, per poter avere un quadro completo servirà un ricovero in una clinica specializzata che prevede una risonanza magnetica e prelievo del liquor ma il preventivo è di circa 1800 euro e,
siamo molto in difficoltà al momento.
Le spese di ricovero sono state giustamente molto alte, è stata con loro una settimana coccolata e protetta, siamo consapevoli che senza il loro aiuto non sarebbe qui con noi.
I conti vanno saldati, le analisi specialistiche sono molto costose e la piccola dovrà fare nei prossimi giorni diversi controlli per monitorare la situazione, tra ricovero, medicinali, analisi e visite abbiamo un conto che va oltre i 1000€ che onestamente non sappiamo dove andare a prendere, vorremmo inoltre poter sognare di fare la visita specialistica con ricovero e prelievo del liquor di cui ha bisogno ma, in questo momento non è nemmeno immaginabile poter aspirare ad avere una cifra così alta.
Per questo sono qui, a chiedervi aiuto come credo di non aver mai fatto in vita mia. Chi mi conosce lo sa, cerco di risolvere sempre tutto da sola ma stavolta ho bisogno di una mano, voglio dare una speranza a questa piccola creatura che non ha colpe nella vita e che aspettava solo di trovare la sua famiglia per la vita.
Ovviamente pubblicherò tutte le ricevute di cui dispongo per mostrarvi che non mento.
Non pretendo di arrivare a tutto quello che serve per coprire ricovero e visite specialistiche ma sarebbe importante per noi poter avere anche un piccolo aiuto che ci permetta di saldare i nostri debiti.

Have you ever gone to sleep seeing your 3-month-old kitten playing cheerfully and lively in bed and then the next morning finding her at 6 a.m. submerged in a lake of drool in the throes of a seizure?
It sounds like a crazy story but that's exactly what happened to us with Audrey.
This little 3-month-old was rescued along with her mom from a dangerous situation, she and her skinny little brothers who were scary thin and all sick had been put back on their feet by the skilled and knowledgeable hands of a very good Nanny and, they had all come to be stalled here with me, waiting for their home for life.
And indeed they all found it, except for Audrey who waited quietly and healthily for her turn.
Until one night, we all went to bed together, as we did every other day seeing her playing and rolling around, only to be awakened at 6 a.m. by strange noises. We were confronted with one of the worst scenes we had ever seen in our lives, she was there in a lake of drool and pee in the throes of convulsive seizures that stopped briefly and started again after a few minutes.
The rush to the Veterinarian was immediate, she was immediately examined and stabilized but, after a short time that we brought her home the seizures returned, stronger and more aggressive, the hospitalization was immediate, the fear so great and the hopes of coming out very, very low.
Thus began one of the worst weeks we had experienced in our lives, she was fighting with all her might, surrounded by the love and professionalism of the Veterinarians, slowly the seizures diminished, the fever subsided and the neurological symptoms improved slightly and so, we were able to bring her home.
She is currently being monitored, doing a little better but is constantly on medication to prevent even more damage than she has already suffered.
We still don't know what happened specifically, there are many hypotheses and for now we have only been able to rule out a few of them, in order to get the full picture we will need an admission to a specialized clinic that involves an MRI and CSF sampling but the estimate is about 1800 euros and,
we are very much in trouble at the moment.
The hospitalization costs were rightly very high, she has been with them a week pampered and protected, we are aware that without their help she would not be here with us.
The bills have to be settled, the specialist tests are very expensive and the little girl will have to have several checkups in the coming days to monitor the situation, between hospitalization, medicines, tests and visits we have a bill that goes over 1,000€ that we honestly don't know where to go to get, we would also like to be able to dream of having the specialist visit with hospitalization and CSF sampling that he needs but, right now it is not even imaginable to be able to aspire to have such a high amount of money.
That is why I am here, asking you for help as I think I have never done in my life. Those who know me know, I always try to solve everything on my own but this time I need a hand, I want to give hope to this little creature who is blameless in life and was just waiting to find his family for life.

I do not pretend to get to all that is needed to cover hospitalization and specialist visits, but it would be important for us to be able to have even a small amount of help to pay off our debts.
