Una protesi per Olaf, aiutiamolo a camminare di nuovo.

Olaf è un Akita Inu di sei anni e sta vivendo una vita complicata. Nell'inverno del 2023, lui, un'altra Akita Inu della sua stessa età ed i loro quattro cuccioli di appena un mese sono stati tolti al loro proprietario a causa delle condizioni precarie in cui vivevano ed affidati al canile Anita di Falconara Marittima, in provincia di Ancona. Vivevano senza spazi, senza cure necessarie e senza la possibilità di vivere dignitosamente.

Da Associazione Anita hanno trovato finalmente cure, attenzioni, un ambiente sicuro e tanto amore. Ma per Olaf la strada è ancora in salita. Quale tempo prima, date le condizioni indecenti in cui viveva, si procurò, con cause sconosciute, una ferita sulla zampa anteriore sinistra. Questa ferita, non essendo stata curata a dovere, si infettò gravemente tanto da rendere necessaria l’amputazione della parte finale dell’arto. Da allora Olaf cammina con difficoltà, ma ha dimostrato grande forza, adattandosi al meglio alla sua condizione.

In questi due anni tutta la sua famiglia è stata adottata trovando una nuova casa, ma Olaf no… per quanto sia un esemplare di Akita Inu meraviglioso è rimasto in canile, probabilmente a causa della sua condizione. Effettivamente adottare un cane con una menomazione può essere spaventoso nonostante Olaf sia un cane buonissimo, affettuoso, vivace e pieno di voglia di vivere.

Olaf merita una seconda possibilità! Vorremmo aiutarlo a camminare meglio e senza difficoltà, garantendogli una protesi che migliori la sua vita. Per questo abbiamo avviato questa raccolta fondi con l’obiettivo di raggiungere 1500 euro, necessari a coprire le visite veterinarie, il costo della protesi e la fisioterapia post intervento. Se riusciremo a raggiungere questa somma la pre-ospedalizzazione sarà eseguita in una clinica ad Ancona e successivamente operato a Milano in una clinica specializzata su protesi canine.

Anche una piccola donazione può fare la differenza. Con il vostro aiuto, Olaf potrà di nuovo camminare ed avere finalmente la possibilità di trovare una famiglia che lo accolga.

A Prosthesis for Olaf – Let’s Help Him Walk Again

Olaf is a six-year-old Akita Inu, and he is going through a tough time. In the winter of 2023, him, another Akita Inu of the same age, and their four one-month-old puppies were taken away from their owner due to the bad living conditions they were subjected to. They were entrusted to the Anita shelter in Falconara Marittima, in the province of Ancona. They lived without space, without proper care, and without the chance to live with dignity.

At Associazione Anita they finally found care, attention, a safe environment, and lots of love. But Olaf’s journey is still an uphill battle. Some time ago, due to the awful conditions he was living in, he suffered an injury on his left front leg, though the exact cause remains unknown. Since it was not properly treated, the wound became severely infected, making it necessary to amputate the lower part of his limb. Since then, Olaf has struggled to walk, but he has shown great resilience, adapting as best as he can to his condition.

Over these two years, his entire family has been adopted and found new homes, but not Olaf. Even though he is a beautiful Akita Inu, he has remained in the shelter, most likely because of his condition. The idea of adopting a dog with a disability can be daunting, even though Olaf is an incredibly sweet, affectionate, lively dog full of life.

Olaf deserves a second chance! We want to help him walk more comfortably and without difficulty by providing him with a prosthetic limb that will improve his quality of life. That’s why we have launched this fundraiser with the goal of raising €1,500—enough to cover veterinary visits, the cost of the prosthesis, and post-surgery physiotherapy. If we reach this amount, the pre-hospitalization will take place at a clinic in Ancona, and he will then undergo surgery in Milan at a clinic specializing in canine prosthetics.
