I am Manuel Ventura, I am 36 years old. I have a beautiful family made up of my wife and my two beautiful daughters.

Two and a half years ago we received terrible news, after experiencing intense pain in all my body. Medical tests indicated imminent damage to both kidneys, so I was diagnosed with stage 3 renal failure.

For 2 years I fought the disease by changing my eating habits until the doctors indicated that it was no longer possible for me to continue this way, since the disease had advanced to stage 5 (the last stage of the disease). In January they performed an outpatient procedure that consisted of placing a soft catheter in the peritoneum and beginning to perform dialysis at home. I managed to obtain a dialysis machine to which I connect every day for 8 hours.

I have been doing dialysis at home for 7 months and my quality of life is not the best. As time passes I am deteriorating to such a degree that most of the time I am in very poor health. During this period I have had 2 quite serious crises where I sincerely believed that I would lose my life.

My biggest dream is for my daughters to grow up knowing that they have a healthy, strong father who can protect and answer for them, I want to give them the best of me. Although one of them doesn't understand my process and always tells me: “Daddy, one day you won't have to use your machine anymore to feel good.”

I don't want them to grow up believing they have a sick parent who can't go out for an afternoon, play in the park, ride a bike, or do other activities.

That is why I have decided to fight to achieve my kidney transplant, which has a high cost.

According to quotes, I need approximately $60,000 to pay the fees to the nephrologist and the use of the hospital facilities where the surgery would be performed.

Soy Manuel Ventura, tengo 36 años. Tengo una hermosa familia conformada por mi esposa y mis

dos bellas hijas.

Hace dos años y medio recibimos una terrible noticia, después de presentar un dolor intenso en

todo mi cuerpo. Los análisis médicos indicaban un daño inminente en ambos riñones, así que, fui

declarado paciente con insuficiencia renal estado 3.

Durante 2 años luché con la enfermedad cambiando mis hábitos alimenticios hasta que los

médicos indicaron que ya no me era posible seguir bajo esta modalidad, ya que la enfermedad

había avanzado al estado 5 (última etapa de la enfermedad). En enero me realizaron un

procedimiento ambulatorio que constaba en colocar un catéter blando en el peritoneo y empezar

a realizar las diálisis en casa. Logré obtener una maquina dializadora a la cual me conecto todos los

días durante 8 horas.

Tengo 7 meses de dializarme en casa y mi calidad de vida no es la mejor. A medida pasa el tiempo

me voy deteriorando a tal grado que la mayor parte del tiempo la paso muy mal de salud. En ese

lapso he tenido 2 crisis bastante fuertes donde sinceramente he creído que perdería mi vida.

Mi mayor sueño es que mis hijas crezcan sabiendo que tienen un padre sano, fuerte, que puede

proteger y responder por ellas, quiero darles lo mejor de mí. Aunque una de ellas no entiende mi

proceso y siempre me dice: “Papi, un día no tendrás que usar más tu máquina para sentirte bien”.

No quiero que crezcan creyendo que tienen a un padre enfermo que no puede salir una tarde a

jugar al parque, a pasear en bicicleta o hacer otras actividades.

Es por eso que he decidido luchar por lograr mi trasplante de riñón el cual tiene un alto costo.

Según cotizaciones necesito aproximadamente $60,000 para pagar los honorarios al nefrólogo y el

uso de las instalaciones del hospital donde se realizaría la cirugía.

Espero en Dios y en ustedes poder lograr la meta para reunir los fondos y poder alcanzar este
