Help for María in Her Fight Against Cancer I’m creating this fundraiser for my dear friend María de Lourdes Manso Méndez, a wonderful 33-year-old woman and loving mother of a 10-year-old girl. Recently, María received devastating news, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lymphoma, an aggressive form of cancer that requires immediate and intensive treatment. María came to this country just a year and a half ago with her husband and daughter, full of dreams and hope for a better future. But today, instead of continuing to build that future, she’s facing one of the toughest battles of her life. Her chemotherapy is set to begin soon, a long and exhausting 18-week treatment that will test her strength and faith. Because of her condition, María is unable to work, and her husband is doing everything he can to care for her and their little girl while trying to cover the growing medical bills, daily expenses, and basic needs of their family. María doesn’t have any family here in the U.S. only her husband, her daughter, and a small circle of friends who love her deeply and are doing everything possible to support her.
