Úna for Europe — Vote Number 1

Úna Mc Gurk is a skilled, experienced, and accomplished barrister and Senior Counsel. As a committed humanitarian, Úna is concerned at the direction the E.U. is now taking. Agenda and legislation currently being promoted by the E.U. no longer accord with the original aim to “promote peace, its values and the wellbeing of its citizens”; with its mission to “guarantee peace, freedom and security in and around Europe”.

Approximately 70 percent of current Irish law derives from the European Union. Úna is a highly experienced legal practitioner in a wide variety of legal disciplines and has the necessary skill and experience to act as a guardian; both for the Irish People and, in particular, the Constituents of Ireland South, where she seeks your Number 1 Vote.

When elected, Úna pledges to:

• Monitor and assess, and if necessary, expose, all policies and agendas emanating from and through the E.U. that will affect the Irish People and especially her Constituents in Ireland South.

• Evaluate all proposed legislation emanating from the E.U. to ensure its relevance, benefit, and suitability for the People of Ireland and especially her Constituents in Ireland South. In particular, she will ensure that she will only vote in favor of legislation that is beneficial for the People of Ireland and especially her Constituents in Ireland South.

• Úna will use her substantial skills and best endeavors to represent her Constituents at all times whilst a Member of the European Parliament.

• Úna has already demonstrated her capacity, courage, and tenacity in exposing wrongdoing, deception, policy, and legislation that is not for the benefit of the Irish People. She will continue to do so as a representative of Ireland South when in the European Parliament.

Some of Úna’s positions are outlined as follows:

- As someone who has been an ardent opponent of the Irish Government’s proposed Hate Speech and Hate Crime legislation, Úna will guard against the consequences of the new Digital Services Act; ensuring there is no E.U. Commission overreach or further encroachment on the right to freedom of expression.

- Úna does not support the E.U. Asylum and Migration Pact, the terms of which currently await a decision by Dáil Éireann and Seanad Éireann on whether to opt in. The terms of the Asylum and Migration Pact are an issue of profound National importance for the People of Ireland, and a delay in Ireland’s decision on whether to opt in should be effectuated to enable further investigations and proposals, and national debate regarding the potential for a constitutional referendum. Una will work to expose the real causes of behind mass migration, which are neither organic nor natural.

Úna is concerned about the increasing loss of our sovereignty, both national and individual, as a result of our membership of the EU. A factor that is also relevant to the proposed upcoming Pandemic Treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulation, which she does not support. The EU as a progenitor of this treaty has been and is very influential in these developments.

- Originally coming from a farming background, Úna supports not only the right of Irish farmers to farm their lands but also the absolute necessity that they do so without unnecessary restrictions. She is also concerned that there are no adequate incentives for young people to get involved in farming. Úna does not support any culling of the National Herd. Una will do everything in her power to stop the sudo Restoration Law that is coming down the line and is being supported by our current MEPs.

Úna will support the diversification of fishing and fishing villages decimated by fishing quota bans by ensuring access to funding for projects such as seaweed harvesting.
