Una esperanza para Sandra, ayudame a vencer el cancer

Hola, mi nombre es Sandra Luna, y esta es mi historia.

Todo comenzó en el año 2023, cuando recibí una noticia que cambiaría mi vida para siempre. Acudí a realizarme un estudio de rutina, sin imaginar que me detectarían un tumor que abarcaba desde uno de mis riñones, parte de mi intestino y se encontraba muy cerca de la vena aorta. Afortunadamente, el tumor fue removido perdiendo mi riñon derecho.

Sin embargo, once meses después, aparecieron dos nuevos tumores en mis pulmones. El tumor en el pulmón derecho fue retirado, junto con el lóbulo medio, pero lamentablemente, al poco tiempo surgió otro tumor en ese mismo pulmón. El tumor en el pulmón izquierdo no pudo ser removido.

Recientemente, el doctor me confirmó que ahora estoy enfrentando un cáncer en etapa 4. Actualmente, la única opción que me ofrecen en el University Medical Center es el tratamiento de quimioterapia paleativa. A pesar de todo, mi familia, mis hijos y mis hermanos no pierden la fe y mantienen la esperanza de que pueda ser evaluada en el MD Anderson Cancer Center en Houston, Texas, donde tal vez exista una alternativa que me brinde una nueva oportunidad de vida.

Hoy les pido, desde el fondo de mi corazón, su apoyo para poder cubrir los gastos de esta evaluación médica. Su ayuda no solo representa una esperanza para mí, sino también el sueño de seguir viendo crecer a mi hijo y de conocer a mi nieto que viene en camino.

Hello, my name is Sandra Luna, and this is my story.

It all began in 2023, when I received news that would change my life forever. I went in for a routine check-up, never imagining I would be diagnosed with a tumor affecting one of my kidneys, part of my intestine, and dangerously close to the aorta. Thankfully, the tumor was removed taking off my right kidney.

However, eleven months later, two new tumors appeared in my lungs. The tumor in my right lung was removed, along with the middle lobe, but unfortunately, another tumor developed in that same lung shortly after. The tumor in the left lung could not be removed.

Recently, my doctor confirmed that I am now facing stage 4 cancer. At this point, the only treatment option offered by University Medical Center is chemotherapy. Despite everything, my family—my children and siblings—have not lost hope. They are doing everything possible to get me evaluated at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, where there may be alternative options that could give me a second chance at life.

Today, I ask from the bottom of my heart for your support to help cover the costs of this medical evaluation. Your help is not only a source of hope for me—it’s also a chance to watch my son grow up and to meet my grandchild, who is on the way.
