Evelia Cárdenas es una madre y abuela venezolana, de 65 años, que necesita una cirugía operar su hombro derecho. Perdió la movilidad de su extremidad derecha desde febrero de pasado.
Estas dolencias empezaron hace cuatro años y se han intensificado a pesar de las terapias y tratamientos que ha recibido. Recientemente se realizó una resonancia magnética debido a la severidad de su condición y el especialista le explicó que solo una cirugía podría devolverle la movilidad.
Su especialista, luego de realizarle la exploración física, describió sus hallazgos:
1. Apley doloroso, yergason y jobe positivos.
2. Hipertrofia acromio clavicular.
3. Ruptura parcial del supraespinoso.
En la resonancia magnética, el especialista halló lo siguiente:
1. Ruptura completa del tendón supraespinoso y ruptura parcial del tendón infraespinoso.
2. Marcada colección líquida en bursa subcromial – subdeltoidea, bursitis.
3. Cambios hipertróficos-degenerativos e inflamatorios en articulación acromioclavicular, impactando el supraespinoso.
4. Derrame articular gleno humeral.
5. Tendinosis del tendón largo de bíceps.
Su calidad de vida está deteriorada. Dormir, cocinar o realizar movimientos que impliquen el uso de su hombro derecho se convirtieron en una actividad imposible para ella.
La cirugía incluye los siguientes procedimientos:
1. Cirugía de hombro derecho.
2. Bursectomía.
3. Acromioplastia.
4. Reparación y rafia de supraespinoso.
El costo de la operación es de $2.835, en el Centro Médico Paraíso, en la ciudad de Maracaibo, Venezuela.
A esta cantidad se suman estos exámenes preoperatorios:
1. Electromiografía de miembros superiores y columna cervical $80
2. RX de tórax $20
3. Inmovilizador universal de hombro $50
4. Valoración cardiovascular preoperatoria $20
5. Exámenes de sangre y Prueba de Covid-19 $55
6. Sutura de alta resistencia $80
Luego de la cirugía, también requerirá de 12 terapias que tienen un costo de $15 cada una.
El monto total de este procedimiento es de $3320
Esta cantidad es inalcanzable para Evelia y por esta razón iniciamos esta campaña con el objetivo de brindarle una mejor calidad de vida a esta abuela venezolana.
Venezuela es un país latinoamericano que padece una profunda aguda crisis política y económica. Evelia Cardenas is a Venezuelan mother and grandmother, 65 years old, who needs surgery on her right shoulder. She lost the mobility of her right limb last February.
These ailments began four years ago and have intensified despite the therapies and treatments she has received. An MRI was recently performed due to the severity of her condition, and the specialist explained that only surgery could restore her mobility.
The doctor, after performing the physical exam, described the following findings:
1. Painful apley, yergason and jobe tested positives.
2. Clavicular acromial hypertrophy.
3. Partial rupture of the supraspinatus.
On the MRI, the specialist found the following:
1. Complete rupture of the supraspinatus tendon and partial rupture of the infraspinatus tendon.
2. Marked liquid collection in subchorionic bursa – subdeltoid, bursitis.
3. Hypertrophic-degenerative and inflammatory changes in acromioclavicular joint, impacting the supraspina.
4. Glenohumeral joint spill.
5. Long bicep tendon tendinosis.
Evelia’s quality of life is impaired. Sleeping, cooking, or performing movements that involve her right shoulder became an impossible activity for her.
Surgery includes these procedures:
1. Right shoulder surgery.
2. Bursectomy.
3. Acromioplasty.
4. Repair and raffia of supraspinatus
The cost of the operation is $2,835, at the Paraiso Medical Center, in the city of Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Preoperative examinations are added to this amount:
1. Upper limb electromyography and cervical spine $80
2. Chest RX $20
3. Universal Shoulder Immobilizer $0
4. Preoperative cardiovascular assessment $20
5. Blood Tests and Covid-19 Test $55
6. High-strength suture $80
After her operation, she’ll also require 12 therapies that cost $15 each.
The total amount of the procedure is $3,320.
This amount is unattainable for her, and for this reason, we started this campaign to provide a better quality of life to this Venezuelan grandmother.
