Baby Aiden's Skull Surgery
Donation protected
As I write this I am fighting back the tears. With a heavy heart we share news of a very difficult time for our lives. Until now, we have not shared much about the serious health concerns we have been dealing with, so the following may come as a shock to many of you.
Our baby Aiden will be getting surgery on his skull very soon. He has a condition called Craniosynostosis which is a birth defect where one or more joints between the bones in his skull close prematurely and cannot let the brain grow properly. If not treated it can cause developmental delays in his future. Although it is not life threatening it is major surgery and is a very scary, stressful time in our lives. Aiden’s surgery will be done by a team consisting of a craniofacial plastic surgeon, neurosurgeon, and nurses at The Children’ Hospital at St Peter’s. We know he will be in good hands we have one of the best pediatric neurosurgeons in the country. Aiden will spend about a week recovering in hospital followed by several weeks at home.
The money that you donate will go toward Aiden's skull surgery and other medical bills. This surgery is needed and if it is not done, the consequences are not good for his brain development. We are just trying to do everything we can for our son and have faith that he will be smiling and batting those eyelashes very soon after surgery xoxoxo Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
