Save Chi Chi: Urgent Surgery Needed
Donation protected
***UPDATE*** Surgery is scheduled for August 6th. Thank you all for your generous donations.
Amerana (now known as Chi Chi) was picked up in Mississippi and was transported to MA where she was in a shelter until a foster was available, which happened to be me. When I picked her up from the shelter, the handler told me she may have a heart murmur or just anxiety. She stayed with me for a little over a week, then was adopted by a lovely family, who brought her to a vet (which is recommended). They found she had PDA which is an excessive volume of blood being shunted from her aorta to her pulmonary lung circulation. If left untreated, she will die.
The adopted family couldn't afford the surgery nor did the child want to see the first dog he had die. So they reached out to me to see if I could take her back since she had been shuffled 5 times. I took Chi Chi back to become a hospice foster. I was certainly not looking forward to that but I couldn’t let her go to another foster or shelter, she had been shuffled around enough. With the love she provided to my family, I had to try to get her the operation. With the help of a wonderful veterinarian, she got Chi Chi in to see a cardiologist who confirmed the diagnosis and once they sent me the estimate of $8600.00 on top of the $1000.00 for the diagnosis, this amount is beyond my budget, I was beside myself.
Well, as you can see, she is the cutest and most loving puppy (15 months old). I adopted her so that I have control over her medical issues. Any money over the $8600.00 will be donated to an animal shelter. Thank you for the time you took to read this.
