RALLY FOR RUSTY OUR DOG!
Our beloved Rusty, only seven years old, was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma and received his first treatment of Chemo on Christmas Eve. He has 8 more treatments within the next 16 weeks. It will be a long road ahead and the treatments are very costly.
I am April, Rusty’s human sister, and this news has been overwhelming. It is with heavy hearts that we are reaching out for donations (any amount helps) and we are in need.
Rusty is more than just a dog, he is our four-legged son, brother, and beloved family member. My Dad Ron Wortman is Rusty’s papa. He is not one to show emotion, but this news has been hard on him and is taking its toll. Dawn Gerard is Rusty’s mom and, as you can imagine, she is completely devastated. Melody Compton is my dad's girlfriend, Rusty’s stepmom, and she is heartbroken. Sara Fleetwood, Rusty's aunt who lives upstairs is heartsick as are Teri Ramsey and Linda Hayton, Rusty's other aunties who assisted me in creating this page. Oh boy, the list just goes on. Rusty has so many people who adore him!
Our hope is to keep "Rustoleum" with us for many years to come! He is a very loving, kind, friendly golden retriever and true best friend to the whole family and those who meet him.
Let me tell you a little about Rusty: Rusty is extremely smart and has the sweetest disposition, loves to say hello to ducks, squirrels, and small children. He loves to play catch with the ball from far away, and whenever he gets a new toy, he goes straight for the squeaker and does not stop until he gets it out of the toy, then he’s so proud to show off the evidence and what a good job he has done. He is always eager to entertain guests in our home by bringing them a gift – usually the remote control or flip flops. He knows lots of tricks, and he’s always proud of himself. He has neighbor friends and even a love interest, an Australian Shepherd named Nala, where he sits patiently on her doorstep in hopes that she will come out and play. He is so funny, happy and is always wagging his tail. He is not your typical dog because he thinks he is human. Rusty is truly a godsend gift to all that meet him.
