10 Marathons in 10 Days

Hi, I’m Marc — 33 years old, born and raised in Luxembourg.

I discovered running about five years ago, just as the world was shutting down during the pandemic. It coincided with another major shift in my life: I quit smoking. What began as a simple lifestyle change quickly turned into a passion — even an addiction — and it didn’t take long before I was chasing bigger and bolder goals. In 2022, I ran my first marathon. A few years back, I would’ve never imagined running 42,195 kilometers — and now, I’m setting my sights on something even more ambitious.

Running has become more than just a sport to me. It’s my sanctuary — my time for reflection, for clarity, for connection. When I run, I feel grounded in my body and connected to the world around me. Every stride is intentional, every breath a reminder of being alive. It’s where I find peace, strength, and purpose.

I’ve always been fascinated by the limits of human endurance. What are we truly capable of when we commit ourselves fully? I believe we’re often capable of far more than we think. It’s that curiosity — that hunger to push boundaries — that drives me. With dedication and consistency, the impossible starts to look possible. That’s something I deeply believe in and live by.

This year, I’ve decided to push my limits not just for myself — but for a cause that’s close to my heart.

Starting July 9, I will run 10 marathons in 10 consecutive days — all while working my regular job as an architect — to raise funds for Think Pink Luxembourg, an organization dedicated to the fight against breast cancer.

This challenge is especially meaningful to me because it’s dedicated to someone very dear: my grandma, Andrée Peters. July 9 marks the two-year anniversary of her passing. Among other health issues, she battled breast cancer multiple times throughout her life. Despite her suffering, she remained strong and graceful until the end, passing away at the proud age of 92.
She was my role model — an incredible woman whose resilience continues to inspire me every day.

Through this initiative, I hope to raise both funds and awareness for breast cancer and those who are affected by it. Organizations like Think Pink do crucial work by providing education, support, and a strong sense of community. Their message is powerful: You are not alone.

If this story speaks to you — whether you’re inspired, moved, or simply want to show your support — I invite you to join me for the final 5 kilometers of my last marathon on Friday evening July 18 (more details will be shared on social media in the coming weeks).
Let’s finish this challenge together, in unity, for a cause that matters.

With all my heart,
Marc

In loving memory of Andrée Peters
