Hello, my name is Yusselyn. I am a Venezuelan immigrant, and I am raising funds for my 21-year-old niece, Efraimary Rodriguez-Candela, who has been fighting lupus for the past six months in Venezuela.
Lupus has severely affected her kidneys, heart, and nervous system. Her kidneys have lost much of their function, and she currently requires hemodialysis. She recently began experiencing seizures, and her health has been deteriorating rapidly. She is currently hospitalized at the Caracas's University Clinic Hospital.
Her doctors have recommended five plasma exchange (plasmapheresis) sessions, a treatment that could help stabilize her condition. We need to raise $7,000 USD to cover the sessions, 20 units of 20% human albumin, and five plasmapheresis kits.
Efraimary was my first niece, born when I was still very young. We have always been very close, and we share a very special bond. Seeing her fight for her life today is one of the hardest things I have ever experienced.
She has always been a dedicated student, and she dreamed of studying Psychology. Today, instead of building her future, she spends her days in a hospital fighting to regain her health.
Our family in Venezuela has done everything possible to help her, organizing community fundraisers and finding ways to cover her medications, transportation, and food. I have also supported her financially whenever I could, but I have two daughters of my own, and I can no longer cover the cost of this treatment by myself.
That is why we are asking for your help. Every donation, no matter the amount, can bring us closer to getting Efraimary the treatment she urgently needs.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign can also make an enormous difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping us give Efraimary a chance to keep fighting, keep living, and one day pursue her dreams.
