Soy María Daniela Villasmil, directora de orquesta venezolana. Desde niña he vivido la música no solo como un arte, sino como una forma de transformar vidas.

Crecí rodeada de retos, pero también de la certeza de que la música es un puente hacia la esperanza.

Hoy me encuentro frente a la oportunidad de vivir dos experiencias que son el reflejo del esfuerzo que he estado realizando durante a años, algo que he visualizado: he sido seleccionada para participar en dos prestigiosos cursos de dirección en Estados Unidos, donde aprenderé de grandes maestros y dirigiré a orquestas profesionales en repertorio de Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Beethoven y Florence Price.

Primero, en Illinois (24–26 de octubre), dirigiré la Southern Eastern Illinois University String Orchestra bajo la guía de la Dra. Sandra Dackhow y el Dr. Michael Mishra.

Luego, en Arkansas (27–31 de octubre), formaré parte de los 10 directores seleccionados entre una multitud de postulaciones para trabajar con la Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, con coaching personalizado, grabaciones profesionales y la posibilidad de presentarme en concierto.

Sé lo que significa viajar de Venezuela y levantar un sueño en medio de tantas dificultades. Cada paso en mi camino ha sido un acto de fe, disciplina y amor profundo por la música y por las comunidades a las que sirvo.

Para hacer realidad esta meta necesito reunir $5,000 en 15 días, destinados a cubrir alojamiento, vuelos, alimentación, membresía y matrícula.

Tu ayuda no solo me permite crecer como directora: significa también que cientos de jóvenes a los que enseño puedan recibir un legado más sólido, porque lo que aprenda no será solo mío, será compartido.

I am María Daniela Villasmil, a Venezuelan orchestra conductor. Since childhood, I have lived music not only as an art form but as a way to transform lives.

I grew up surrounded by challenges, yet always with the certainty that music is a bridge to hope.

Today I stand before the opportunity to live two experiences that reflect the effort I have been making for years, something I have long envisioned: I have been selected to participate in two prestigious conducting workshops in the United States, where I will learn from renowned masters and conduct professional orchestras in repertoire by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Beethoven, and Florence Price.

First, in Illinois (October 24–26), I will conduct the Southern Eastern Illinois University String Orchestra under the guidance of Dr. Sandra Dackhow and Dr. Michael Mishra.

Then, in Arkansas (October 27–31), I will be one of only 10 conductors selected from a multitude of applications to work with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, with personalized coaching, professional recordings, and the chance to conduct in concert.

I know what it means to travel from Venezuela and pursue a dream in the midst of so many difficulties. Every step of my journey has been an act of faith, discipline, and deep love for music and for the communities I serve.

To make this goal a reality, I need to raise $5,000 in 15 days, to cover housing, flights, meals, membership, and tuition.

Your support will not only help me grow as a conductor—it will also mean that hundreds of young musicians I teach will receive a stronger legacy, because what I learn will not only be mine, it will be shared.
