Hola, mi nombre es Betzy Hernández de Pivaral y hoy quiero compartirte mi historia.

En mayo de 2023, mi vida dio un giro drástico cuando fui diagnosticada con cáncer de pulmón en etapa avanzada. Fue un golpe muy duro para mi familia, pero mi fe me recordó que no estaba sola. La oración se convirtió en mi refugio y Dios en mi mayor fortaleza.

Desde entonces, he estado recibiendo quimioterapia y radioterapia. Cada sesión es un paso en este camino. Aunque he tenido momentos de dolor, he encontrado la fuerza para seguir adelante en el amor de mi familia y en el apoyo de mis amigos. Estoy profundamente agradecida con Dios, mi esposo, mis hijos, mis hermanas, mi madre, mis médicos, los especialistas y la ayuda del Seguro Social de Guatemala y AstraZeneca.

Ahora, me encuentro en un punto crucial de mi tratamiento. Para continuar mi lucha, necesito un nuevo PET-Scan. Lamentablemente, este estudio no es confiable en Guatemala y hacerlo en el extranjero tiene costos muy elevados que superan mis posibilidades. Debido al diagnóstico, tuve que dejar de trabajar, y aunque mi esposo tiene un buen empleo, para el tratamiento del cáncer el dinero nunca es suficiente.

Por eso hoy recurro a ti para pedir tu ayuda, con la convicción de que Dios obra a través de las personas. Cualquier donación, por pequeña que sea, me permitirá seguir adelante con mi tratamiento y continuar luchando por mi vida.

Tu apoyo no es solo una ayuda financiera; es un acto de bondad que me da la fuerza para no rendirme. Si no puedes donar, te pido que por favor compartas mi historia. Cada vez que lo haces, me acercas un poco más a mi meta.

Hello, my name is Betzy Hernández de Pivaral, and today I want to share my story with you.

In May 2023, my life took a drastic turn when I was diagnosed with advanced-stage lung cancer. It was a very hard blow for my family, but my faith reminded me that I was not alone. Prayer became my refuge, and God my greatest strength.

Since then, I have been receiving chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Each session is a step along this path. Although I have experienced moments of pain, I have found the strength to keep going through the love of my family and the support of my friends. I am deeply grateful to God, my husband, my children, my sisters, my mother, my doctors, the specialists, and the support of Guatemala’s Social Security and AstraZeneca.

Now, I am at a crucial point in my treatment. To continue my fight, I need a new PET-Scan. Unfortunately, this study is not reliable in Guatemala, and having it done abroad comes with very high costs that are beyond my reach. Due to the diagnosis, I had to stop working, and although my husband has a good job, when it comes to cancer treatment, money is never enough.

That is why today I am reaching out to you for help, with the conviction that God works through people. Any donation, no matter how small, will allow me to move forward with my treatment and continue fighting for my life.
