Hola a todos, mi nombre es José Leandro Vivas, tengo 50 años y vivo en Caracas, Venezuela. Hoy me dirijo a ustedes con el corazón en la mano para pedir su apoyo en un momento muy difícil de mi vida.

Estoy enfrentando graves problemas de visión: padezco de glaucoma de ángulo cerrado avanzado y catarata densa en ambos ojos. Necesito someterme con urgencia a dos cirugías oculares, comenzando por el ojo izquierdo, que es el más afectado.

El procedimiento consiste en remover el cristalino y colocar un lente intraocular en cada ojo. Esto permitirá regular la presión ocular y evitar que el glaucoma continúe avanzando, con el objetivo de conservar la visión que aún me queda.

Con la ayuda de familiares y amigos, hemos creado esta cuenta de GoFundMe con la esperanza de reunir los fondos necesarios para realizar las cirugías y preservar mi vista.

Creo firmemente que el mundo está lleno de ángeles y milagros. No siempre tienen alas ni están en el cielo: muchas veces están entre nosotros, y sin saberlo, se convierten en el milagro en la vida de alguien más.

Hello everyone, my name is José Leandro Vivas. I’m 50 years old and I live in Caracas, Venezuela. Today, I come to you with my heart in my hands, asking for your support during a very difficult time in my life.

I’m facing serious vision problems: I have advanced angle-closure glaucoma and dense cataracts in both eyes. I urgently need two eye surgeries, starting with my left eye, which is currently the most affected.

The procedure involves removing the natural lens and placing an intraocular lens in each eye. This will help regulate the pressure inside my eyes, prevent further damage from glaucoma, and hopefully preserve the remaining vision I still have.

With the help of family and friends, we’ve created this GoFundMe in hopes of raising the necessary funds to undergo the surgeries and protect my eyesight.

I truly believe the world is full of angels and miracles. They don’t always have wings or live in the sky—many times, they are people like you and me, becoming a miracle in someone else’s life without even knowing it.
