There are battles that no parent should fight alone, and moments where the strength of a family is only sustained thanks to the outstretched hand of others. We are Lisandro and Fabiana, and today we open our hearts to you with the vulnerability of those who are doing everything humanly possible to protect the greatest treasure of their lives: our daughter, Gianna.
At the age of three, Gianna faces a storm that began with a COVID-19 infection and escalated to a Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome (MIS-C). What began as a virus turned into an internal aggression that has hit his most vital organs. His small heart fights against an inflammation in the pericardium and a failure in his valves, while his kidneys now face an Acute Kidney Failure, adding a new challenge to his recovery.
Our house in Maracaibo has stopped being just a home to become a critical care unit. Under the supervision of Dr. Hender Linares, we keep Gianna in home hospitalization, a necessary decision due to her fragility, but which implies a monumental daily cost: monitoring equipment, high-end medicines, oxygen and constant visits from specialists (cardiology, nephrology and pneumonia).
Today, resources have been exhausted, but our faith and Gianna's will remain intact.
How can you help us?
Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, is a respite for Gianna. It's a dose of medicine, one more day of monitoring, one more heartbeat of strength. If you can't donate financially, sharing this message is an act of immense love that allows us to reach more hearts.
Thank you for not passing by, for reading our story and for helping us make Gianna's heart beat again with the strength and joy that only a three-year-old girl should know.
With infinite gratitude,
Lisandro and Fabiana Navarro.
