Hola! Somos los papás de Danielita, vivimos en Guatemala y estamos pidiendo apoyo para poder cubrir los gastos de traslado en ambulancia aérea y algunos gastos médicos iniciales. Esto nos ayudará a que la puedan diagnosticar, ya que en Guatemala no contamos con los equipos adecuados, laboratorios ni especialistas específicos en varias ramas de la medicina específica.
Danielita tiene muchas ganas de vivir desde que está en el vientre de su mami. Una noche, dejó de moverse para avisarnos que algo estaba mal. La razón de ello fue un desprendimiento de una parte de la placenta a las 28 semanas de gestación. Los médicos esperaban mantenerla dentro para que pudiera seguir creciendo con naturaleza. Sin embargo, 2 días después, Danielita estaba perdiendo mucho peso. Tuvimos que ingresar a emergencia para que naciera, a tan sólo 28 semanas!
Hoy en día hemos cumplido más de 65 días en Unidad de Cuidados Intensivos Neonatales. Un gran equipo de médicos a cargo nos ha recomendado que lo más apropiado es trasladar a Danielita a un país en donde sí la puedan diagnosticar. Hemos recorrido un largo camino de complicaciones, infecciones, enfermedades y exámenes, sin embargo, aún no tenemos ni un diagnóstico. Se han enviado al extranjero varias pruebas genéticas para detectar algún Error Innato del Metabolismo o Problemas Mitocondriales, y ni una prueba es concluyente.
Los días avanzan cada vez más y eso pone en peligro la vida de Danielita, ya que por éstos problemas aún no ha podido salir de la ventilación mecánica y esto genera varios efectos secundarios. Hoy en día ya tenemos problemas de bronco displasia, síndrome hemofagositíco, inmadurez retiniana y problemas cardiovasculares como un trombo en la aurícula derecha del corazón. Actualmente, los médicos de Guatemala han dado todo su esfuerzo para mantener a Danielita estable y es el mejor momento para trasladarla.
Debemos realizar el traslado en ambulancia aérea de inmediato, ya que no sabemos qué complicaciones pueda presentar debido a una posible enfermedad no detectada. Agradeceremos tu amable donación.

Greetings! We are Danielita’s parents, we live in Guatemala and we are asking for support to be able to cover the expenses needed to transfer her in an airborne ambulance and some initial medical expenses. This will help us have a proper diagnose, unfortunately in Guatemala we don’t have the required equipment, laboratories or specialists needed in different branches of medicine.
Our sweet Danielita has a fierce motivation to live since she was inside of her mommy’s belly. One night, she stopped moving to let us know that there was something going wrong. The reason of it, having a detachment of the placenta at 28 weeks of pregnancy. The doctors hoped to keep her inside so that she could keep growing, nevertheless, 2 days later, Danielita was loosing too much weight. We had to enter the emergency room so that she could be born being only 28 weeks old!
Up to today, we have been 65 days in the neonatal intensive care unit NICU. A huge team of doctors in charge has recommended us to take Danielita to another country where she could be properly diagnosed. We have walked a long path full of complications, infections, diseases and tests, however, we still don’t have a diagnose that lets us know what she has. Several genetic tests and screenings have been sent to other countries to detect some inborn errors of metabolism or Mitochondrial Problems, but none of the tests were conclusive.
The days go by and by and that threatens Danielita’s life, since all of these problems have not allowed her to breath by her own, needing mechanical ventilation which generates several secondary effects. Today Danielita already has bronchial dysplasia, hemophagocytic syndrome, retinian inmaturity and cardiovascular problems and thrombosis in her right auricula. Doctors here in Guatemala have done everything they can to keep Danielita stable and this is the best time to move her where they can treat her properly.
We must move her in the airborne ambulance immediately because we don’t know what complications might rise due to a possible illness that has not been diagnosed yet. We greatly appreciate your donation.
